On Sunday Valentina and Nelson took me to Valparaiso and Vina del Mar because there wasn't really anything open to do in Santiago. We hopped on the bus with some snacks and hit the road. Once there, we walked around the port, found a great restaurant to eat at, took a super sketchy bus to Vina del Mar to see the big flower clock and pictures (because that's just what you do) and check out the beautiful beach. Nelson found me a pulga del mar (a sand flea) and we soaked our feet in the freezing water. Then we went back to Valparaiso to check out the cerro (the hill) and walk around a bit. To get up we took an elevator that went up the side of the hill and on the top there were some great views of the port, the beach, and the beautifully colored houses all over. Unfortunately it was getting dark so the colors got a bit lost in the darkness, but it was still cool. Then we went back down the ascensor and barely caught our bus back to Santiago so that I could pack and head out in the morning.
